There were 4.74 billion social media users around the world in October 2022, equating to 59.3 percent of the total global population. Social media user numbers have continued to grow over the past 12 months too, with 190 million new users joining social media since this time last year. That equates to annualised growth of 4.2 percent, at an average rate of 6 new users every single second[1].

For many beginning entrepreneurs, social media is crucial when reaching the target group. It helps gather more audience and create curiosity about your product. Small businesses need social media to increase brand awareness. As more and more people embrace social media, entrepreneurs can use platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to target and reach millions of potential customers quickly and at an affordable cost. Another important aspect of social media for small businesses is that it helps humanize the brand. Sharing information about your business and how existing customers are using and benefiting from your product creates tangible relationships. Authenticity breeds trust and social media is a great place to connect with your business. Increasing your business value on social media should show how you measure customer interest and how your product works in the real world.
